Molly Tupper, an undergraduate dance maker at Smith, asked me to her rehearsal. I watched with enough scrutiny to do her justice but with mostly a melting heart at the work we do as dancers. We are so brave and bold and vulnerable. This is our life's sentence: to notice differences. Isn't that what Mr. Bill F says? Dance is about noticing detail, differences between things, and the way in which our attention so agile shifts from one thing to the next.
